Successful Nigerians On The Internet And What We Can Learn From Them

               Before now, I used to think that we have just a handful of writers, analysts, journalists, composers, novelists, preachers both real and fakes, teachers, and in fact, all the professions you could think of.
But how wrong I was! The advent of technology with its numerous devices has proved me wrong.
Go to various social network platforms today and see what is happening.
 While many others are busy squandering their precious times  looking for ways to scam  the unsuspecting and unwary on-liners, serious minded ones are equally busy developing and reaping the unending rewards of what the internet has to offer. One interesting fact about this thing called internet is that it shares some characteristics of life itself.
 It's a respecter of no one! It rewards you according to your efforts and does not play any partiality as long as you follow the basic rules and regulations of doing things rightly. Yes! People young and old are freely expressing themselves in too many ways that they themselves never thought possible. Is it not wonderful to see some people reaching out to their full potentials in some ways unimaginable in this tech age?

'Great many of us, especially Nigerians, are capable of doing some greater things, but are only hindered by  lack of the needed resources to discover ourselves'.

In the past we used to hear of just few names of some rugged individuals who surmounted so many challenges to have their works exposed to the public  and consequently become someone in life, while those who could not go beyond their limits usually drop by the wayside; and pathetic enough, some of these ones may be better in so many ways than the eventual winners so to say, but couldn't just make it beyond the initial huddles.  Anyway, that the swift doesn't always have the race has equally buttress the facts in their own cases.

                                  Not so again in this infotech age.

 Today, thanks to technology and the big names behind it because so many people that wouldn't have been anything today, are the ones setting up and dictating the pace at various levels in the societies and the world over. While I don't have to scout the world for the big players on the internet and the envious but admirable lifestyles they live, we will just concentrate on our own part of the world and see how far we have gotten through the power of the internet.

Names need not be mentioned because they are too many to be listed or if you insists, go to Google  and enter your queries. For emphasis here are few examples the internet big names in Nigeria.

We also have mr Darlinton Omeh the brain behind Palness Media the owner of constative news and article platform, as better explained in his about me page, he practically threw himself into technology against all odds with a different story being told today about his success online. Hallmark newspaper recently had a chat with him about his progress.

 Through his love for the internet, many other Nigerians has been trained by him to be among those benefiting from what the modern technologies has to offer.

 Dr. Sunny Obazu Ojeagbase the owner of complete sports is another easy going man who together with his loving companion mrs ojeagbase has equally done great things through the power of the internet, though his success stories started even without the advent of the modern technologies but he was more than clever to have noticed the limitless opportunities that lies with the power of the computers and what it could do.

 I still remember reading in one edition of Success-Digest, a magazine where he covers all there is to know about the many opportunities on the internet the world over, while discussing about the superiority of the online living against the daily rat-race, he asked a rhetorical question that went like this:
 "What would you do if you suddenly lost all that you had worked for over the years to an accident of any type but still retains your life? He answered, "First I will access the situation and thank God that I still have my life. secondly, I will look for a friend to accommodate me and by any means if I have any money with me or even to borrow, would start selling  newspapers because I believe in information marketing and with the money I make over time, will use it to buy a laptop and start building my life back from there because I can always regain all I lost earlier on".

 What do you have to say about that? Time would fail us if I start listing so many other young men and women in Nigeria who are doing wonderfully well using the power of the internet technologies. Akin Alabi, Nairabet master, Ogbonge blogs, the technician on the net, and thousands of young and old Nigerians home and abroad who are leveraging from the power of the World Wide Web. Really you are wonderful because you had not failed us.

             In every twelve they say, there must be a Judas! But must you be that Judas? I refused to be!
 
 That being the said however, they are some dark sides to the modern technologies even though the mischievousness of many types did not start today. Too many people today too are using the technology for wrong purposes and for such ones, I ask:
Is technology a curse or a blessing?

Many people, both young and old have used it to discover and better their lots in life, so why then are many or fewer others bent on using it wrongly? Has the tech failed us in any way? Has it failed to return that which we entrusted to it?

 To me and many of you out there, technology has come to make things easier but some wrongly inclined ones among us are giving it some bad names and by extension their countries of origin.

I, for one enjoys using it profitably. I may not know about you, but the facts remains that when used properly, it would serve good purposes but when mismanaged, we would have ourselves to blame because in whichever way you tends to go about it, some level of efforts would be expended. So why expend your efforts to deliberately do something wrong when the same efforts even lesser ones would have you do it legally and in a more profitable ways?

Technological devices, just like money, are innocent and are here to help us do things together and grow together, but we are not allowing them to serve their real purposes due to our obscured nature and faulty reasoning.

No one want it bad but because of prides and curiosity, we are getting things done badly but we can stop it if we wish and have our minds set aright.

If done right, online business has the power to surprise you!

If you clearly analyze my points here especially with the last lines, you will discover that I didn't talk on anything particular, apart from technology, but I did touch on virtually everything being done by humans.

 That being the case therefore, let us learn how to use our talents profitably, legally, wisely and be proactive with our God given resources while we do our best to have things done the ways it should always be done. We have it, therefore let us unleash them out profitably.
