Life As A Critic, Does It Really Worth Living?

'A critic is a man created to praise greater men than himself but he is never able to find them- Richard Le Gallienne'.

Reading further from the same book, it says ,'it's a thousand times easier to criticize than to create and that is the major reason why critics are never problem solvers.


Many people think it to be so comfortable criticizing what others has spent time creating without knowing that it takes just a little less or more time for them to do something that could have their own imprints.
While it is good to focus on what serves our individual's needs, it's also very important not to poke nose unnecessarily into others preferences by casting doubts on what someone has been using for a long time without any problems or unjustly inputting wrong motives into what a person is doing. If the critic knows better let him produce his own for all others to see in order to compare and contrast if need be.

My major problems with the critics is that nothing is ever right aside from their own perceptions. For instance, they are usually convinced that the main reason of sunshine is simply to cast shadows. They never believe anything but want everyone else to believe them. (Oscar Wilde). says concerning them, "Critics know the prices of everything and the value of nothing"           I think that says it all.

                                          When You Have A Second Opinion.

While it may not be said to bad or simply critical to have a different opinion on somethings, critics however usually tows that lines of entry. Even if we have our various opinions over some things, we should be very careful with how we go about with our preferences in order not to leave others feeling inferior for not using exactly the same products that we are using even while they are well off with the ones they are used to..

For example here in my part of the world, when the mobile telecommunications industry first made their entry into the country, apart from the paid adverts that are everywhere for people to patronize some particular company and why their own is better than the other, the consumers on their own who has no commissions from the companies, were also busy advertising their own preferences free of charge showing to their friends and families why one is better than the other. Whereas in the real sense, they are just working overtime for no pay.

   Why not get busy with these best selling products?

 If that's the profession you choose as a person, no problem but just remember that the only thing that awaits you as a critic is nothing but a sudden old age!. But if you choose the right thing to do with your life, I will then have to give you this timely quote from the Optimist Creed. "Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others" Get busy with the construction gang and not the wrecking crew.

   You are noticed simply because you stood tall amidst the self-made dwarfs!  Do not let what the mouths has to say be the reason for your slack hand in what you believes to be the right thing. Do not depend on others because you are not others, you are accountable to yourself and have the right to do things rightly without anyone's permission as the case may be. Just try your best not to be an island of things generally.
